Doug Whitaker is married to his beautiful wife Sara and is the proud father of two amazing daughters and one manly son. Doug is an avid reader, a staunch Baxter’s Coffee consumer, and a proud United States Air Force veteran.

Doug has extensive cross-cultural experience, having previously lived in Japan for three years and Indonesia for over two years. Doug has traveled to a number of other countries which include: Tanzania and Kenya on the continent of Africa, Mexico, Singapore, Hong Kong, Saudi Arabia, Diego Garcia, and Thailand.

Doug previously studied at Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama where he received his Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree.  Followed by graduate studies at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky where he received his Master of Divinity degree (M.Div.), followed by post-graduate study in Missional Leadership. Doug is currently finishing a Master’s of Theology (Th.M.) degree at SBTS and also his Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree from The Northern Kentucky University’s Salmon P. Chase College of Law, he will graduate in December 2015. As a part of his previous role in Southeast Asia as a Leadership Consultant, Doug and his wife Sara spent a year studying the Bahasa Indonesian language and southeast asian culture at the Indonesian Multi-Language Acquisition Center (IMLAC) in Bandung, Indonesia.

Doug previously served as a Judicial Intern for the Honorable Jeffrey T. Burdette, Chief Regional Circuit Judge for the 28th Judicial Circuit in Kentucky.  He is currently serving as a Law Clerk for the Donahue Law Group in Somerset, Ky where he will be an Associate Attorney following graduation and admission to the Bar in the Commonwealth of Kentucky.  As a part of its work, Donahue Law Group is allied and partnered with groups such Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF) and Liberty Counsel in lawsuits concerning the defense of religious freedoms.

Doug is an ordained minister, a member of Grace Baptist Church in Somerset, Kentucky, a trained law enforcement chaplain, and a lifetime member and recruiter for the NRA.  Doug is a certified Firearms Instructor in the state of Kentucky and the owner of Armed Kentucky LLC, a firearms training company.

In February 2014 Doug was awarded a Kentucky Colonel’s commission by the Governor of Kentucky and thereby holds the honorary title of “Kentucky Colonel”.
